Father’s Day with Berkeley Eats, Beats and Brews

We’re looking forward to getting out and playing a little in the sunshine — come join us this weekend for some fun on the streets of Berkeley!  The Berkeley Eats, Beats and Brews is a good, ol’ fashioned block party that happens every Sunday during the summer.  Here are the deets:

  • Sunday, June 15
  • 12:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Center St. between Shattuck Ave. and Oxford St.

We’ve been hard at work at our new studio — it’ll be good to get outside and stretch our legs a little.

Sadly, our steadfast percussionist Jesse Weber may still be too injured from a recent car accident to join us, but if he makes it out be very gentle if you give him a hug: we need him to recover quickly!

Not Just The Justin Ancheta Band!

We’re also excited to play with a couple bands we haven’t played with before: The Blondies and The Muir Valley Settlers, two up-and-coming bands who we very much like the sound of.  A little more about them:

The Blondies

The Blondies play a progressive alternative retro rock core with a classic rock style reminiscent of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Black Keys. These high school musicians are the youngest band to be named Gibson artists and have been recognized by BAM magazine for their incredible performance energy and original songs. Their harmonies and instrumental prowess are way beyond their years. The band consists of Simon Lunche (lead vocals and guitar), Frank Klopotowski (bass and vocals), Zak Meghrouni-Brown (lead guitar and vocals), Paul Davis (drums and vocals), and Jerry Feist (keyboards and vocals).

The Muir Valley Settlers

Muir Valley Settlers are an acoustic indie/folk rock band from Martinez, CA. Their influences include bands like The Head and The Heart, Fleet Foxes, and Local Natives. Their sound is unique and reflects the new indie rock movement. Muir Valley Settlers catchy guitar melodies and vocal harmonies will leave you singing and humming throughout the night. They are supporting their first 5 song E.p. that should be released in the fall of 2014.

Come on out and join us at Berkeley Eats, Beats and Brews for some good food and good music this Sunday!
