Many of you know Justin Ancheta as a musician due to his career choices, performing under his label, Soul Graffiti Productions. His past includes a diversity of body movement and listening. The body movement comes from a strong sense of self in found through running and athletics. Ancheta was the captain of the Colfax Varsity team of 1999 his senior year where the school won their first ever section title. The school proceeded to win about 5 more titles after that first year, keeping a precedent for athletic excellence for the division 3 school. After Ancheta became the league MPV, scoring the winning goal on the section championship game, he solidified numerous soccer scholarship offers to Division 1, 2, and 3 colleges throughout California. He accepted his scholarship to Sacramento State University in 1999, a Division 1 school in the MPFS League, playing agains teams like Washington University, Stanford, Cal Poly, Air Force – Colorado, New Mexico State, and many more. All the these schools in the Division 1 league have had their moments of being in the top 5 schools nationally.

Justin Ancheta Today – Performer, Father, Partner, Business Owner

Now residing in Grass Valley CA, he is the proud owner of multiple business, including the following:

  • SF Garnish Music Production School, located in the Bay Area, CA
  • Soul Graffiti Studios: an artist for artist collective label and production company, focusing on live entertainment & sound production, audio and video.
  • Honey of the Heart & Justin Ancheta Band: two unique performing groups under the Soul Graffiti Label, performing mostly on the West Coast but has gone as far as Europe, Mexico, and throughout the United States.

Family Life Mixed with Music

Ancheta is the proud father of Juniper Miel, his daughter, and stepfather to Sam Metke Ramsell. Maren Metke, Justin’s partner, is the other half of Honey of the Heart, who is featured on 9-16-22 at Colfax High School with Justin, plus a key element in the project and new releases under the band Honey of the Heart & BrightSide Blue collaboration, due out in October 2022.

Throughout the pandemic, Maren and Justin managed to keep the music nectar flowing by creating a weekly livestream called “Kitchen Jam” where they performed in their kitchen with their growing daughter. You can see Juniper growing from two to four years old through the videos, probably the most sweet part of the kitchen jams. It was one way to keep the inspiration and music flowing even though their 2020 release tour was completely cancelled with over 40+ appearances cancelled in 7+ states. They are slowly getting back on the road by just returning from a 3 state tour up north to Washington State.
